There is nothing like a good pandemic to bring about necessary change in the field of health care and here it is! We offer one-on-one personalized evaluation and treatment over our HIPAA compliant video conferencing app which allows you to get the care you need in your own home and on your own time. Whether you are limiting your social contacts or want a more flexible option for PT, telehealth could be the answer for you!
So what is telehealth? Telehealth is the same physical therapy services you would get in the clinic but provided over a video conferencing system. This allows for less physical contact and germ sharing while maintain the same face-to-face time with your provider. All of our telehealth sessions will be one-on-one with your provider so you will have the undivided attention of your Doctor of Physical Therapy (something you will rarely get in an out-patient clinic setting). This also allows us to expand our physical therapy treatment to all the people in the state of Nebraska while maintaining our physical location in Texas – how cool!
What can you expect? When you choose to do telehealth, you will still go through a 60 min evaluation with the therapist to figure out what is causing your pain or issues via observation of movements, examination of injured areas, and subjective report. Then the therapist will take you through an appropriate treatment based on your symptoms and presentation. Due to the inability of the therapist to perform hands on treatment, the focus will shift toward teaching you how to relieve and manage your own pain (which is exactly what you need for the long term anyway)! Dress comfortable as you and the therapist will get both get to move throughout your session and you will be given an individualized home program to help relieve pain and improve your function!
