During the first trimester of pregnancy, survival is often the name of the game. Here are a few products that without a doubt helped me survive the first trimester of this twin pregnancy!
*Disclaimer – I have no conflict of interest and am not sponsoring any of these products. Pregnancy is never one-size-fits-all, and you should work with your healthcare team to find what products may be right for you.
NAUSEA LOZENGES

These bad boys were an absolute life saver. Did they take the nausea away? Absolutely not. Did they make it bearable to be able to continue to act like a normal human being for a few hours at a time? Yes! I found these lozenges lasted far longer than the gum I had used in previous pregnancies and were easier on my stomach than drinking a ginger ale or other alternative.
SQUEEZE FRUIT & VEGGIE POUCHES

With the first trimester of nausea came a severe loss of appetite. If you know me, you know I love to eat and I can eat a lot. But when that nausea hit, the sight and smell of food was seriously off-putting. I found having squeeze pouches (yes, the same ones my 7 month old nephew eats) available to me at all times allowed me to keep some energy up, improve my nausea slightly, and get some much needed calories and nutrients to the growing babies.
BELLY SERUM

Alright, if you’re anything like me and just found out your having twins, then you may also be freaking out about how in the world your stomach is going to stretch THAT far to accommodate two babies at once. As a PT, I knew it was imperative that I start preparing my skin early for the big changes ahead with moisture and massage so I started using the True Belly Serum by 8 Sheeps Organics around 10 weeks. I can’t tell you whether or not it’s going to help prevent stretch marks yet, but I can say my skin feels more moisturized and I have had minimal itching and no pain with the expansion so far!
LARGE WATER BOTTLE

I want to preface this with I would never pay $40 for a water cup, BUT my sister gifted me a Stanley and my goodness did it change my life. To be able to get back into my car in the 110 degree Texas weather to 40 oz of ice cold water is an absolute game changer. Hydration is so important during pregnancy, and I found personally that small, frequent sips of ice water helped keep my nausea at bay while keeping my body from completely shutting down due to dehydration.
