Pelvic Floor Therapy

Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy is a unique specialty in the world of physical therapy often thought to help pregnant and postpartum women through childbirth but it is sooo much more!

As a pelvic floor therapist, I don’t only treat the pelvic floor – in fact, I personally am a board-certified orthopedic specialist. Being a pelvic floor therapist means that we have pursued further education beyond our Doctorate degree to truly understand the pelvic floor and core as they relate to the function of the body. This means we are trained to assess and treat these areas both internally and externally to help improve the body as a whole.

Some of the benefits are obvious like improving pain, prolapse symptoms, incontinence, constipation, and more. But some benefits aren’t as well known like…

💚Improving your athletic performance by improving your body’s ability to transfer loads and produce power

💚Improving your posture and breathing mechanics

💚Improving your stress management and physical tension

💚Improving chronic pain conditions

💚Improving back and hip pain

And more!

The pelvic floor is a small piece of the puzzle to the function of the whole body but if it’s being overlooked, you may be experiencing pain, symptoms, or lack of improvement with traditional physical therapy.
